Apart from the two ground floor bedrooms - one double and one twin/double with direct access to garden - there are two cosy loft bedrooms, with single beds for children. Comfort is greatly enhanced by under floor heating throughout the ground floor.
Rigg Bay, a secluded, sandy beach is just a stone's throw from the cottage. Fishing, bird-watching, cycling, painting, windsurfing and, uniquely, astronomy are all popular in this area. (So good is the night visibilty that the UKs first Dark Sky Park was founded here in 2009.)
For animal lovers, there are too many to mention but squirrels, badgers, otters and seals are common. Dolphins and basking sharks also frequent the bays.
